Kevin Lay joined the Ashley Lay Real Estate team in 2018 as a Buyer Specialist. Prior to real estate, Kevin served in multiple capacities in the textile industry over 30 years. He possesses a rare trait, the multi-faceted ability to imagine and design the right product for the right customer, work with engineering to perfect the design, and facilitate the sale with the client. His unique understanding led to long-standing business relationships with multi-million dollar customers, resulting in clients that also became life-long friends. In his last role in the industry as Sales & Operations Planning Manager, he excelled at discussing and appreciating the needs of manufacturing, sales, quality and finance.

Raised in Elkin, NC, Kevin has made his home in Winston-Salem for over 20 years. Kevin has been married to his high school sweetheart, Ashley, for 30+ years and loves spending time with their 3 adult children and their spouses/significant others. Kevin graduated from North Carolina State University with a degree in textile and apparel management and minors in economic and business management.

Ashley graduated from High Point University with a B.S. in Mathematics, secondary education licensure, and a minor in Spanish. After years of teaching high school, Ashley started her own digital marketing business and took her entrepreneurial skills into the real estate world.
Highly responsive and incredibly outgoing, Ashley's clients turn into a family as she takes care of them. She loves traveling and has been to Africa four times to serve on missions trips. When she's not playing home matchmaker for you, she's probably busy coaching softball, being mom-extraordinaire to her two daughters, cooking something, or serving on the school PTO.

Laura Nelson joined the Ashley Lay Real Estate team in 2018 as a Buyer Specialist. Although new to our team, she isn’t new to real estate. As a licensed REALTOR since 2005, she has found a passion for working with buyers. Leann Day joined Ashley Lay Real Estate in January of 2019 and serves as Director of Operations. A former firmware development engineer for General Motors, Leann brings an analytical approach to operations management to ensure your experience with ALRE is efficient, uncomplicated and enjoyable.
After moving to NC over 20 years ago from Indiana, Leann spent several years as a full-time mom, volunteering and working in the North Davidson community. Her kids' love of competitive swimming lead her to the YMCA of Northwest North Carolina and a 9 year career as an administrator, Associate Director or Membership & Fundraising, and finally Director of Operations for the TYDE Swim Team. She continues to be involved in the swim community as a volunteer official for YMCA, USA Swimming, high school and summer league swim meets.
Leann holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Purdue University and still does some engineering work with her husband Jeff’s consulting company, JLD Technology Solutions. Jeff and Leann have 2 college-age sons, Sam and John, and are members of Pinedale Christian Church.
